Arrived Richmond airport and was not booked on a flight to Dulles where we flew out at 7:00 PM. Fortunately, the other four travelers who were booked had a flight delay so we all left in a 12-passenger van to drive to Dulles. And made our flight.
There was a little confusion at the Thessaloniki airport as to who was picking us up and where but we did manage to find Panos our sweet bus driver who drove us all over Greece.
Quick tour of Thessaloniki before we all crashed was a good decision. We would have NEVER been able to fit that in the next day.
Disappointed I was not able to do the extension but that is nobody's fault but Trump's. War in Iran.
LOVED our Greece tour guide, Marianna.
LOVED our Ephesus tour guide, Rosie.
Harder to get to know our last guide in Istanbul as she basically dropped us at the Bizarre and Topkapi Palace. And she did not meet us at the airport or drop us at the airport - we had guides that spoke Spanish for that. What?
What I liked about the trip was how it was organized - starting with Phillipi and ending with Ephesus. You could NOT have done it any other way. I also appreciated the stop in Meteora and the Corinth Canal which were obviously not Paul related.
The hotels you chose were good (Capsis), very good (Amalia Meteora), fine (Stanley - like that it was near a metro, hated the view out the front door), GREAT (Korumar - resort off season), and fine (Lamartine). Hotel personnel was consistently beyond exceptional.
Thank you for taking care of all tips. That is so appreciated.
Huge shout out to Michelle Walka! She was fabulous and available anytime anyone needed her. We appreciated her stepping in when Iyad was not able to make it. Thank you Michelle for treating us extravagantly on our last night.
